Bring our troops home now. We’re wasting American resources there. We sure could use it here and keep our troops employed and much safer.

While there is a definite bitter irony to this, surely Rall can’t think that Romney would be any better — all that would happen is that we would continue to kill people in the Middle East AND women in America would lose their rights.

Agree that the drone war is pretty horrific, Ted, but this is kind of a bizarre comparison. You think Romney WON’T keep using drones AND would take away a right to choose?Even by your standards, it isn’t a choice between good and bad, it’s a choice between bad and worse, and that can sometimes be sharper.

Of course, under Muslim law, she had many, many choices.

I lean republican and I have do not have a big problem with with a womens right to chose but that should have been the choice when they jumped in bed. It should not be used as a method of birth control. When they could have taken the pill or used a comdom(which with all the STDs out there would be smarter and cheaper for me because condoms are cheaper than an abortions or free shots for STDs

Not quite, Goz; more like “I pay attention to evidence, I can’t help it if you don’t.”

Amazing how people seem to think that saying something critical of candidate A equates to saying something good about candidate B. O well, I guess you’re “either with us or your with the terrorists”, right?

You should pay closer attention to what your lefty friends post. Personal attacks, threats, foul language, etc., etc. Try flagging them too since you’re so easily offended.

Hey we don’t need to be compairing the Democrats to the Nazi party at all. I mean why should we when the Communist Party USA endorses Obama. http://forums.charlotteobserver.com/?q=node/11392

This is because of outsourcing. Did you expect Obama to roll back NAFTA? Do you expect the Republicans to? Do you buy things made or grown in other countries?

Fail. Drones do not discriminate on gender, so the comparison does not apply.

Slip of the tongue there, old boy. Wishful thinking?

Yeah, they could have. Of course, as soon as they did, that would have unleashed multiple terrorist blitzkriegs by Al Qaeda operatives demanding his release; the UK saw that very thing happen often enough in the Northern Ireland situation.

In reality, his guilt was not a matter of doubt, he had declared himself to be an enemy operative at war, and lives were saved by dealing with it decisively and quickly, a thing which couldn’t have happened with a full trial. So, while I support the rule of law utterly, in a legal analysis he was an enemy operative at war (and not even a head of state or representative of an official government), and in a pragmatic analysis this was the best and possibly only way of avoiding many more civilian fatalities. Quite honestly, and though I don’t applaud Obama’s activities wrt the Middle East overall, I think he (and the Seals, obviously) did that part right.

that’s right, howbozit, the highest and longest unemployment rate in the term after a disastrous republican president since roosevelt followed hoover. unfortunately, when a dem had to clean up that mess in the ‘30s unemployment went to what, 20% or more. at least this time we stopped the bleeding at 8 or 9 percent unemployment. and if it weren’t for wrong-minded people like you, we’d be doing even better. you, and all of us to one degree or another, have amnesia about the hemorrhaging condition this country was in from Oct 2008 thru mid-2009. i think it’s a friggin’ miracle we didn’t fall into a 1930’s style depression, and i have to give obama at least some of that credit.

In fact, just to share a little personal info that makes my point, I would just like to add that I’m married, I can no longer use the Pill, and so I use an IUD to ensure that I don’t get pregnant. If Ryan’s H.R.212 passed and I lived in the US, it would actually be illegal for me to do that. So much for “personal freedom.”
