Grocery stores buy from their chain’s warehouses so even when stuff is in season, it doesn’t matter. If you have a neighbor who grows something you like, it’s good to let them know (all my neighbors have permission to pick oranges in my front yard -too many for me). I eat all the grapefruit in back yard tho (or most). Another neighbor brought me a bag of lemons. Most neighbors are younger than I.
