That kind of scooter was my Christmas gift back before I had a bicycle. I won my first bike in an art contest because I painted the best Halloween window (kids in Maywood did the Main Street store windows every year). I painted in the next even though I was not eligible (just like to paint). All the paints were mixes we made ourselves of BonAmi..I think I was in 3rd grade (about Ruthie’s age).
