An anaconda? You wont have to walk it and you can threaten to feed the kids to it when they’re playing up.

Poodles were bred as hunting dogs. It’s not their fault if people fancy them up.

Get a standard poodle. You don’t have to have the hunting cut, if it’s just a pet.

A standard poodle is a pretty cool dog – all dog, nothing froo froo about them.

It’s usually the other way around. The dog chooses you. After placing or helping place over 400 greyhounds and great danes, I’ve found that that’s usually the case. Only had 2 that didn’t work out and that was the owner’s fault.

I agree with Gator – take the kids to the shelter and let THEM pick their own dog. You are selecting a friend, not a status symbol.

West Highland Terrier! I have had four of them. They are cool dogs. Fiesty but friendly. Very loving. Truly a man’s dog.

May I suggest an Irish Wolfhound. They are one of the most loving dogs. Have been at man’s side for 7,000 years. The only downfall is that they would take up a whole frame as they are the tallest of all the dogs. The kids would have a blast with one.

Getting a cat, would be 3 steps below a poodle.

Newfie’s are GREAT dogs, but so BIG, and as a rule end up with hyp dysplasia, etc.

Let’s hope that labradoodle doesn’t need to go to a groomer for haircuts. That can be a real pain.

Adam, I have 5 pups you can pick out of for your kids! 4 males and 1 female. I don’t know how you will feel if they’re part Pitt Bull, part Minirature Pinscher, and part Jack Russell Terrier. Oh yeah, they are free! A mutt is a good, all-around, and yet, cost efficient dog! Ha! Ha!
