I remember one Democratic politician was once called a “reverse Houdini” because he kept escaping from a position of safety to a position of danger, over and over. (I’m thinking it was George Will that called him that although I can’t remember who the politician himself was.) There’s a lot of truth to that for certain politicians of both parties….

The rabid dogs will slip on the roller skate and banana peels, sending them down the manhole. Actually, that’s what happened last week at the RNC., So the only question is whether falling piano will cover the opening in time so the couple can safely pass…

FDR said something like ‘Of course Republicans never bump into each other. They’re not going anywhere.’-How many filibusters in the last three years? Somewhere between 300 and 400?

The dogs are chasing a black cat across the couple’s path toward their left. Perhaps it will make a u-turn and reverse course, which would portend good luck for them, if it crosses to their right.

    As if.

Oliphant forgot any precariously placed mirrors, near as I can see.

I may vote for Chthulu after all.

While Will Rogers was certainly correct, at most times, have the Republicans left any banana peels after THEIR “convention”?

assuming your question is sincere it is because a round manhole cover cannot fall into the hole, unlike a squre one./

Like selecting a Right to Work state with the lowest percentage of unionized workers in the country to hold the convention.

Manhole covers are round for the same reason auto tires are round-no sharp edges! Easy to handle, install, roll well, easy to manufacture and clean. All the manholes are round so, they fit better than square ones!!! Who ever saw a square manhole? Men who work there are more round than square. Even the small covers are round. It takes less material to build one. Hoses going down there can’t get caught up in the corners of a square one, the corner of a square one could break off more easily. Foreign countries can make them more easily so we can import them! Do we even make them anymore? Don’t we get them from Mexico? Would you rather have a Womanhole cover to make things equal? What would that look like? Kids can play with them easier. You can make small barbell sets with them, to lift weights or make discus throws from them. They don’t destroy so many things when they explode. Aren’t they a national symbol? If they were square, we wouldn’t be having this talk!!
