"Clearly Steve couldn’t attack the results of Christie’s policies in NJ, so he resorted to a personal attack. Dems take notice when the failed policy is pointed out it’s NOT a personal attack. You mean like how Limbaugh called Michele Obama fat? I do have to agree that making fun of someone’s weight is an unnecessary cheap shot.

Can you imagine what the liberals would have to say if a similar cartoon was published about 0bama making fun of his ‘blackness’?"Or when Limbaugh started calling Michele Obama fat. There’s too many legitimate criticisms to stoop to making fun of a politicians weight.

Yeah, in an age where we’re trying to stop bullying and show more sensitivity about body image, Liberals once again break their own code of “ethics” when it’s at the expense of a Republican. Thanks for once again showing how intolerant liberals really are Steve.

Does this mean the righties are going to take back all the fat jokes they made about Michael Moore?

But okay, I’m game. Let’s talk about Chris Christie’s policies, shall we?

Did you notice that there was NO mention of the so-called ‘Jersey Comeback’ in his convention speech?

    Here’s why:

Every time I log on here, some right-winger is bashing Obama over the unemployment rate, “He promised to get it down to 8.2%!”

    Wellll, New Jersey’s unemlpoyment rate is 9.8% , ( That’s the highest since 1977. )

    http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Articles/2012/08/28/Why-Christie-Wont-Mention-NJs-Unemployment-Rate.aspx

And let’s not forget that Governor Christie, a self-proclaimed ‘fiscal conservative’ once dunned the state for a ride to his son’s Little League game .

I dunno what you’re so angry about, you should be grateful that Benson ONLY made it a personal attack.

More about Christie’s policies, as they tie into his speech this time.

During his address, Governor Christie repetedly referred to ‘hard truths’…while lying through his teeth. Specifically, he claimed to have signed ‘three balanced budgets’, when in fact, every budget he signed has been UN-balanced to the tune of more than $2 Billion

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-29/romney-and-christie-s-hard-truth-problem.html

Are you sure you wouldn’t RATHER hear some fat jokes about this guy?

OMG, do you actually have to be TOLD this?

Very well. If you’re obese, you can do something about it, you can diet and start an exercise program.

If you’re born black, sorry, there’s nothing you can do to change that. ( Even Michael Jackson couldn’t pull it off. )

What do you need to know next, whoi is buried in Grant’s Tomb?

    Okay, I’ll educate myself.

Well looky here, most genetic researchers say the genetic excuse for obesity is a MYTH

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/7973110/Genetic-excuse-for-obesity-is-a-myth.html

And even if it WERE true, says here that exercise can actually reduce the genetic propensity towards obesity by something on the order of 40%

Anything ELSE you wanna put in yer mouth, while it’s open?

    You know what’s hilarious?

We’ve seen one rightie after another bashing Benson for attacking Chris Christie over his obesity and not his record as Governor

So I put up two posts regarding that record, and NOT ONE conservative has responded to either of them. Instead they all want to continue with the fat discussion.

    Why is that, I wonder?

People can control their weight, ask Mike Huckabee who famously lost a lot of weight to get “healthy”, even that tub of mental lard Limbaugh DID lose a lot of weight. You CAN change your weight, but not your skin color, ’er, “race”, there IS Michael Jackson.

Actually I get a kick out of Chris, even though I don’t agree with anything he says most of the time, at least he’s not afraid to say it.

^^Joined the Army at 6’ and 117pounds. At 40, weighed 130. Still have a body mass index around 24 and could stand to lose some weight but my doctors don’t see it as necessary.

BUT PLEAS TIGGER, for your own good, stop taking PCP, it rots the brain! OH! THAT explains it? ( nurf!: I assume you meant personal trainer or physician?)

Humor should not be directed at things that cannot be changed, like skin color or disability, but fat can be changed, so it’s all fair and in good fun. Perhaps he’ll be spurred to lose weight!

    Yes, but can you READ?

The article you posted never stated that genes are the SOLE cause of obesity Only that they might might be a a contributing factor.

But genetic heritage IS the sole reason for one’s race,

Sorry pal, but like a wool suit, your argument won’t wsh.

Poor Christie. Since he’s obviously stumping for his 2012 shot (“his turn”), he really will have to take better care of himself.

Step away from the pizza, Mr. Governor!

Seriously, good for him if he ends up doing a Huckabee makeover.

Obama didn’t create his own “blackness”, besides, he’s very handsome and keeps himself in excellent shape. Why would anyone make fun of that?

Christie, on the other hand, is solely responsible for his own condition. Does not show taking personal responsibility, something the GOP is always touting. So can we make fun of him for pointing out his hypocrisy? YES WE CAN!

Can people control their ethnicity? No.

Can people control their weight? Yes, actually. It takes determination, a good plan, and the willpower to follow it through. The type of thing the righties are always claiming they support, and yet look at the obesity rates in the Red states as well as Teaparty gatherings.

It’s a good thing to ridicule hypocrisy.

Not true, friend. Because these folks’ ancestors weren’t obese like they are today, and that’s a fact. Very little of this epidemic is genetic. It’s caused by an over abundance of cheap, low-quality food and too little movement. The fact that whole families are obese merely indicates that they share and model the same poor eating habits, as well as ignorance regarding how to break out of their pattern of disease.
