I always wanted to tell the teacher “None of your !*$%$ business!” when she got nosy like that. Since I didn’t feel like being beaten within an inch of my life, however, I usually settled for making stuff up.
The point, Johnny Ant, is not to tell us what inane things you tweeted this past summer, but to actually show that you can speak intelligently in front of a group. When this generation grows up, no one is going to know how to do an oral presentation.
I always thought “what you did this summer” was a stupid and mean assignment to give a child, 1) it’s way too cliché, and frankly, makes the teacher look lazy 2) the kid whose parents couldn’t afford to drag them places they’re too young to appreciate is the one who gets picked on the rest of the year.
