Hmm, Gladius, yes, other Islamic countries, mostly. BUT, when Muslims occupied Spain, Jews (yes they had to pay a tax, but..) were honored as scholars, and held high office. How did they do after the “Christians” took over again??
But specific to the ‘toon again, Persians and others DID invade Afghanistan, but it was the Christians from the west, and north, who’ve done the most damage to that populace over the decades.

Theo: the “Taliban government” couldn’t have “given up” Osama bin Laden to us, because they didn’t know his location any better than WE did. In fact at several times WE knew his location BETTER than they did. Rice and Cheney (among others) just wanted the Taliban gone so the could “appoint” Karzai, their “fellow OIL MAN”, and secure the pipeline across Afghanistan they wanted, and STILL don’t have!! FAILURE is the single word to sum up the whole Bush administration.
