And now it is part of the GOP plank – no abortions, even if the woman was raped or is underaged. As the father of a daughter, I could never even think of voting Republican.

Why did he tell the truth about how he feels? I agree that is normally not the Republican way, no wonder you right wingers are ipset. You are more used to these tactics: http://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/article-26031-josh_mandel_brings_new_brand_of_dishonesty.html

What did the baby do to deserve execution and violation of his/her Constitutional right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness? It could be given in adoption to a husband and wife who would give him or her Love and Care and the Life that God ordained. The baby is a Child of God, no matter if it was conceived by a sinful act. God would bless you for choosing Pro-Life.

I agree that Mark Clayton is a bigoted idiot, and it’s right for the Democrats to distance themselves from him and tell people not to vote for him. That doesn’t change the fact that Bob Akin is still a horrible man, with the same anti-woman views as Paul Ryan, and HE remains a powerful member of the house’s “Science” committee, and still has a chance of winning (unlike Clayton, there aren’t that many nutcases in the Democratic party).

dt: I will repeat the applicable comparison. A single nut and bolt is not a “car”, thousands of parts are required. A single egg and sperm united as blastopore, is NOT a human, or any other “animal”. It takes BILLIONS of cells before anything recognizable as ANY species is recognized, let alone “functional” as an entity.

Sperm and ovum, just like a muscle cell, or nerve cell, ARE living human tissues, but NOT “a human being”. BTW, if every cell DOES have a “soul”, do you provide funerals for your toenail clippings???

The Republican Party will continue to fund Akin’s campaign and super funds will step up to make up any difference. The RNC already spent a bundle at their “think tank” to write and tape his apology.

‘But my point is do not let the Donkey paint every elephant with such a wide brush, we are not the group mentality group, that would be the donkey’-Republicans are NOT the group mentality group? Yeah, right.-That’s why they ALL vote for every filibuster McConnell tells them to.-That’s why they ALL sign a pledge to Grover Norquist that they will NEVER vote to raise taxes unless Grover says it’s okay.-That’s why they voted to repeal ACA 33 times with NO dissent.-That’s why a recently retired Republican Congressman said that in order to rise within Republican ranks, you must give them your wallet and your voting card.-That’s why every Republican voted for budget busting Medicare Part D.-That’s why every Republican voted to invade Iraq.-That’s why every Republican voted for Bush tax cuts.-That’s why NO Republican dares criticize Rush Limbaugh.—Yeah, boy, no group mentality there.

Hello Neighbors,Can we talk about Abortion and Same Sex Marriage AFTER we get unemployment down to 3%, repair our infrastructure, fix our schools and healthcare system, reduce the deficit, and set up safeguards to prevent banks from gambling with other people’s money? So many problems pooling behind a dam made up of one and two issue voters who won’t let anything else flow downstream until they get their way on THEIR most important concerns. If a pregnant woman is drinking toxic water or eating toxic food, her spontaneous abortion comes from the infrastructure of the society providing those things. That makes EVERYONE guilty of the abortion because OUR votes determine the officials who will decide if regulating water/food safety is more important than the factory owner who donates to their campaign. If the woman can’t afford the doctor because she doesn’t have healthcare, we must again shoulder some of the blame when she and/or her unborn child suffer the consequences of no prenatal care. And “Marriage” is a religious issue. Churches can refuse to let you marry in their building because you’re not of the same religion. However, at the point when the preacher says, “By the power granted to me by the state of (whereever)” I pronounce you etc etc., it becomes a civil union. Civil unions should not be restricted because of sex, just age and species. More infrastructure and jobs, less social engineering…just for a few years…please?Respectfully,C.

dtroutma….a human being is far, far above the status of a CAR.-Donald Williams, thanks for the 80th birthday wishes! I had a very nice birthday, I’m a semi-shutin and received cards and phone calls from family and received much love thereby.God bless you for your good wishes.-on “rights of the unborn” havn’t we already seen court cases where the death of the mother AND THE UNBORN baby’s right to life were legally recognized?Recognition by Law is as far as I know, reading Pro-Life publications, the most being promoted and defended. IRS deductions beginning with the birth are okay with me….but I want the existence of the pre-born also established with the llegal right to life.In rape cases, the child is 100% innocent. It is the rapist who violates the rights of the woman and her baby, if a pregnancy results. The rapist should be tried and sentenced by a court and made to pay for the prenatal care and delivery of his child. Adoption should be offered by the court, depending on the wishes of the mother after the child is born. Saltwatercroc, the child resulting from rape has the DNA of both the rapist and the mother, and she carries her parents DNA, a heritage established by God.

don, this and other citations, as well as the “varying interpretations” over the centuries, by THEOLOGIANS, doesn’t indicate, “consistency”.

That humans, or any “critter” ARE INDEED much more complex than any of our machines, is an indication that MUCH MORE DEVELOPMENT MUST OCCUR, before you have a viable “product”. THAT is why “quickening” was long a test for viability, by “doctors”, as well as those theologians. The “personhood” at conception argument is absurd, especially as roughly half of those “persons”, by natural process, are never born, and thus, never become actual, living, breathing, “persons”.

BTW, dt, congratulations on the birthday. My mother just turned 100, and we don’t agree on much of anything either, but she is “Mom”.

“Further, the Bible clearly states that the soul enters the body with the first breath after delivery….”-————————————————————————.All that’s needed is an intelligent reading of Genesis 2:7 (if one is so inclined) to realize that man “became a living soul” only after God breathed into him the “breath of life.”
