The extraordinary imagination of children is amazing. And btw I enjoy the old peanuts. Reminds me of my childhood. We used to read them over and over. And laugh and laugh. Happy Monday all.

Jumpstart strip deals with a kid wearing camouflage clothes and believing he is invisible.

That’s school for you. They want you to have imagination, but when you do they stamp it down first thing.

I never have figured out the logic of calling the results of a tax cut being increased debt!

Nor politicians claiming a 5% spending reduction due to reducing next years increase spending from 15% to 10%. Heck, using that logic, why don’t we project a 100% increase and then cut it by 90%? That would be a great savings!

Sorry, couldn’t think of any good, quasi-relevant comic strips on invisibility to post today. One can never please all of the people all of the time, but this should not prevent one from doing things that some of the people enjoy.

Bill Watterson said that two of his major influences were Peanuts and Pogo. I find it interesting to read Calvin and Hobbes in the context of Peanuts, and to read newer strips in the context of Calvin and Hobbes. Nothing is created in a vacuum, and we all build upon the contributions of those who have come before us.

Geez, make one comment about a Peanuts reference and look at all the snark. “Hobbes” can post Peanuts strips from now until hell freezes over, I don’t care one way or the other. I generally choose to skip over them(Ignore them, if you will).It was only an observation on my part, don’t take it as a personal assault on your beliefs.

I enjoys Hobbes’ Peanuts posts. Yes, I could go to the Peanuts page to read them, but I don’t know my way around Peanuts well enough to find strips that relate to the day’s Calvin and Hobbes (If you ever need a specific C&H, though, I’m your guy). Like Hobbes says, Watterson was influenced by Peanuts, and its fun to see some of those influences.

I just discovered how to turn the comments off. Yay for you!

cookies333: This is the first time I’ve been online since Saturday so this is in reference to your question regarding how I am: I’m doing just fine — thank you so much for asking! I haven’t been around here as much this summer as I normally am because my husband and I have been doing numerous projects around the house — inside and out — that have taken up much of my free time. Then, last week we had out-of-town guests staying with us so I wasn’t able to get online at all the whole time they were here. But once they left, I was finally able to get back to one of my favorite places in all the world to hang out — Go Comics, of course(!) — where it took me what seemed like forever to catch up on about 10 days worth of comics and comments I had missed since the last time I was here! I’m still not completely caught up everywhere online after being off for so long (as I’ve got so many places I like to visit whenever I’ve got my computer turned on) but I’m getting there!

How are you doing?!? ;-)

That’s so dumb, but it still made me laugh.

I’m not musical either. My parents just thought it would be good for me to play an instrument. I won’t probably learn violin anyway. Homework does suck. You’re exhausted at the end of the school day and then you have more. I try to be grateful for my education though. : )
