that’s right most people are smart enough to know the context. I’m not sure he is even quoting right.I agree with timeweaver, it DOES make us, or rather conservatives look stupid. You guys don’t have facts on your side, you only have incredible cohesion. As in all agreeing that global warming is not true. You guys have found the few scientists willing to say it is not true and then despite facts you repeat, repeat ,repeat lies, all of you together.

It is one of history’s jokes tha the elephants are using the technique created by the Nazis and Communists of repeating big lies often in the hope that people will believe them.

Who made the runway, the control tower, the cloth for the wings, the engine? No one starts from scratch.

BTW: the majority of “start up” companies, actually, well, fail. The myth is the expectation that they all succeed and make billionaires.

Actually, spyderred, the Big Lie was invented by Sigmund Freud’s nephew, Edward Bernays, a Madison Avenue bigwig, who employed it very effectively for the the Woodrow Wilson administration to promote (among other foul things) US entry into World War One. Josef Goebbels was an admirer of Bernays, and learned his lesson well… but Corporatist World Culture has been really running the developed world using Big Lie techniques since 1912.

“HALF TRILLION”At least get your most basic facts straight before you comment. The loan to Solyndra was $527 million, not billion, let alone trillion.China and Germany are pulling ahead of us in solar technology as well as other technologies, because those governments are willing to invest in their future. They have their share of ‘losers’ as well. The big payoff is not from a company being individually successful, but from the innovations that happen. We got a lot of benefits from the Apollo program besides the bragging rights to putting the first human on the Moon.
