Roger: Hey, Jason- what are you doing later today? Jason: Um, homework probably. Why? Roger: I was thinking I could take off from work a little early and you and I could go hit some golf balls. You know, sort of a little father-son bonding thing. Jason: Golf?? Roger: Whaddya say? See you after school? Miss. O'Malley: Jason Fox, are you trying to get afternoon detention?!

I did something like that once. A kid who was about five times bigger than me wanted to pound me into the ground after school.

One series of strips had Jason out there playing extremely good golf while his dad basically cried. Then Jason said he wasn’t interested in golf, and that made Roger even sadder.
