People of an older generation put them there..I’m not defending the use of unacceptable words but just remember that people swear in front of their children and then complain when those kids use the words.

Remember the anti-obamacare fear-factory “Death Panel” whoopdedoo? go to a geriatric health-care facility, and talk to them about debilitating extended (or eventually fatal) -read expensive-procedure “implimentation policies”. it’s here, folks, and it’s real.

It’s just the first time I’ve ever heard of crap being a swear word or a word to avoid in mixed company . . when you mentioned the “c” word I was like, “whoa! that’s crazy! I didn’t even know that word when I was 10!” expecting a different “c” word, ha ha . . . I do seriously wonder if it is a regional thing though. I polled the office today and no one ever considered it a swear word either. Perhaps not the most genteel of words, but not bad either. I’ll try to bear this discussion in mind when I go traveling.

They CLAIM to represent the Bible, but do not by their actions and teachings. Hmmm . . . I don’t really know if you could blame it all on them though. I think even aside from religion and politics, social groups have always had some sort of established code of behavior. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t think there is a place in the world (inhabited by a group of people anyway) that you couldn’t find some sort of social standard that is arbitrary . . . and the neo-Puritan/Nazi/Maoist/Confederates can’t be everywhere.
