my sister and best friend are both RNs. The latter worked at the local prison hospital. Yep, they both let it all out after work and I’m usually the ear/shoulder.

I can never imagine being a nurse..knowing that one mistake can literally mean life or death for someone else. I also could never deal with so much death…..

My wife is a medical interpreter and she comes home with a lot of guilt and heart-wrenching stories.

My dad had a friend who was a nurse in the terminal ward. This meant that for every patient she met, she knew from the get-go that it was only a matter of time before the proverbial Farm was Bought. The best she could do was keep him comfortable.Poor thing, the pay was good, but it turned her very morbid.
