Until my kids hit 14, we had no TV at all. Still don’t have cable, but we do watch Netflix on it.
Go outside and get some exercise while I sit on my rump.
When I was growing up I got a 9" B&W TV for my 11th birthday. I used it as a bookend for years.
Dad, get off yer fat thingamajig and go shoot some hoops with yer kid!!!!

Watching golf is about the most boring TV I can imagine.
