Holder didn’t “give” guns to anyone. The ATF was investigating some gun trafficking but the Mexican authorities lost track of some guns in Mexico.

However, I think it’s great that republicans have repudiated their longstanding policies that “guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” “gun control doesn’t work,” “guns save lives and reduce crime,” and a “well-armed society protects freedom.”It’s about time they started tracking guns and holding the appropriate persons responsible when guns end up in the hands of criminals.

But then how do you explain Holder turning over 6000 documents to issa? The only thing Holder didn’t turn over are documents from grand jury testimony which are part of the Justice Department’s continuing prosecutions, and Holder legaly can not turn those over to issa. Holder is being held in contempt for following the law

I don’t usually correct spelling, except for howlers (like onguard’s “two pees in a pod” yesterday). I’m not a good speller myself — I was taught to read with an experimental method that helped me to read fast but not to see the insides of words. I’ve written five books, and my feeling is “I’ll worry about the meaning; spelling is what copy editors are paid to worry about”. But the grammatical mistakes on some of these posts drive me nuts.
