I can understand it. Bullying and suppressing women is all they have left to force the supply of future children to … shower together and do other friendly, man-to-man stuff like that

The power play in ALL “bible religions”, and some others, is all about controlling, and owning, women and children. It goes back actually to BEFORE the “bible” and it’s alway been about “testosterone rules”, and writes them.

I think the Catholic Church has BIGGER and more important concerns and problems to worry about than parishioners using birth control or their insurance being required to make it available for those who may want to use it. Can we say PETAFILE PRIEST?

I have repeatedly cautioned you about your habit of talking sense. It upsets a seemingly endless supply of rightwing trolls.

Ima’s wrong. As usual. Our political system is INDEED being held prisoner by the Catholic Church, in that said church has such a strong influence over politicians, and is trying to dictate the health coverage of non-Catholics ( those that work for their organizations).

That they even THINK that they, a religious organization ( profiting nicely from their tax-exempt status, by the way) should have a say re federal or state law regarding healthcare coverage guidelines is just astonishing. If they don’t like the guidelines, they should get the heck out of the employment business.

The war on women by the Democrats and lefties is shown by their support of gender-based abortion.

sbwinn: A superior intellect and force, creating multiple universes of beauty and complexity, with no recognizable form, that is love, nurturing, and caring? Yes.

Accepting a petty deity created by men, in MEN’s image, filled with hate, fomenting endless wars in its name, and willing to destroy it’s creation in an idiotic hissy fit?? No.

Then get the law changed. All I’m saying is I’m saying is that Businesses run by the Catholic Church, and this ruling doesn’t apply to The Church it self … just it’s BUSINESSES, are not complying with the Federal Statutes as they now stand.

Is it the Catholic Church that we make “religious belief” allowances for or will it be ALL religions? What about religions who don’t believe in doctors or modern day medicine and a child in one of those homes needs emergency life saving treatments outside their religious beliefs? The triangular safety signs on the back of the buggies of some religious sects are against their religious beliefs; however they are required by law to be there. In these two cases The Government has sited a law that we ALL have to live by. I’m sure there are many more examples out there or are we only talking about one big powerful religion and one big Right Wing group who is trying to make an issue of a point of law?

If you do I contribute to many charities and try to help those around you with what resources you have on hand then why do you have a problem with someone of low means being able to get birth control. Don’t give that crap about self control either. You sound reasonable enough to know people get horney. Horney people get careless and produce unwanted and/ or un-needed children. Right Wingers don’t like paying for unwanted and/ or un-needed children or people having abortions. I guess I’m just a realist.

If you charge for a product or service, whether “profit” or “non-profit”, you are A BUSINESS regulated by government laws. If you are a CHURCH that provides “religious services only”, you are a church. Several faiths, NOT just Roman Catholics operate hospitals, and conform to LAW governing BUSINESS. It is only a few, like Roman Catholics, that see their BUSINESS PRACTICES as above the law.
