    I may be wrong but the clothing styles in this painting are anachronistic. The man’s outfit is from an earlier period that the woman’s.

    London was notorious for street food too. In the 18th and 19th centuries people bought food straight off the barrow or out of the basket of a street seller and yes, ate it on the street.

    The fast food analogy is lost on me after the shake part. Although It’s probably no less vague than the saying from my era: “If I had a swing like that I’d put it in my backyard!” I get the swing part, but what would be the equivalent of putting it in the back yard?
