As annoying as spam is (I refer to the lower-case variety), I’ve never understood those who work themselves into a lather over it. What I find really appalling, though, is when someone is falsely accused of sending spam, and as a result has their Internet service suspended. All it takes is an accusation, with no need for the accuser to provide proof, and boom, the accused is shut down, at an inconvenience not only to him but also to his readers, who actually requested to receive info in which they were interested. At least this was how it was several years ago, when I frequently came across stories of this sort. I hope it’s better now, and that ISPs don’t just take the word of someone without evidence. I would wager that many of those who hurl spam accusations do so for kicks, for no better reason than the perverse pleasure of making trouble for someone.
