Rip Haywire by Dan Thompson for June 06, 2012
Transcript:
Cobra's teenage flashback! Wowzers! Dutch: Listen bub, I don't care about your feelings re: mercenaries or mustaches. Your boss hired us to protect his boats from pirates, and that's what we're gonna do! Cobra: Your dad thinks we're in danger of pirates. Is he for real? Boy: If it weren't dangerous, cargo shorts, I wouldn't even be in this tub talking to you! Dutch: I can see you're still impressing the ladies with your silver tongue, boy! Pardon the knucklehead, miss. We don't let him out of his cage that often. Boy: Speaking of cages, you promised we'd talk about getting me a dog sidekick!

OK, Loved the two fisted Wolverine/Inspector Gadget references in Panel 1 and found myself ROFL at the Gibbs Moment (NCIS) in panel 3. Dutch’s Dialogue in Panel 4 reminded me of my Late Father as Well (June 11 1939~June 9 1999) All in All, Another great example of Why Dan is The Man. Have a Good’un Y’all!

The clever language makes me laugh every day!And I love the artwork. I always take a little time before reading to get the strip expanded to the maximum this way:Push Zoom, then right-click to get the image location, then change the zoom width from 900 to 1500 and open in a new tab. http://cdn.svcs.c2.uclick.com/c2/5dca19508c0a012f2fe200163e41dd5b?width=1500.0

The boy got off easy. Imagine getting KA-BIFF-ed.

Somehow I think there’ll be more KA-BIFF-ing to come! What a delightful hoot, seeing the young versions of Rip, Cobra, and Dutch. Hmm, wonder who that “dog sidekick” could be? ;-)
