Kassie looks like a far more sympathetic character today than she has previously. And “Professor” Finny, I think, looks very dapper and confidant as an artsy entrepreneur! …But, how many interested parties will be present at Club Gray at 8:00 PM? Could a showdown happen there?

Leonard reminds me of Van Dyke in that getup, a villain who appeared in the strip a year after he did.

39 WOO HOO!!! i’d be careful if i were little face.. i think mr crime’s gang is on to him. and is it just ME or has kassie changed her appearance slightly since her debut? she looks different to me, maybe its that her hair is black now and when she first showed up it was brown?

Yes, Little Face’s comment in panel 3 was obviously intended to be a tribute to Harold Gray. Seems like this club was used once before, possibly in Annie by Jay Maeder. Nice to see that Little Orphan Annie has not been forgotten. One of the truly great strips, along with this one.

Little Leonard needs to watch his little back. Remember, Mumbles last three associates found out that cars go boom!
