It’s more the other way around, I think. Evie didn’t say ‘yes’ to his proposal. I think she loves her freedom to come and go as she pleases, and loves her family more than Arnold understands.

You have summed up our Evie. Arnold actually understands more than we know…His life belongs to the world, woman or not and Evie is perfect for him…she’s like a treat to as he is to her.

I think this is a hard choice for Evie. She really, really likes Arnold and building houses with him — but she loves her family and doesn’t want to be away that long. Give her a few months and she’ll be heading out again. OR, Arnold will give Habitat in the US a try for a few months after Africa.

Keep the relationship with Arnold – you can see each other for 1 week every 6 months – that will make a great relationship.

As some of you do, I think that Evie and Arnold are very well matched. They are both willing to give each other their own space. They can keep their respective commitments and get together from time to time. For them, it works!
