The “Doomsday clock” was recently set forward an hour to allow for “Doom’s Daylight Savings Time”!
We are cheered with any little sign of improvement…even a sign for longer minutes at cheaper rates in order to drown our cheer!
A nod to MAD’s art director, Sam Viviano, perhaps?

It’s called “priming the pump”. Same reason they give you “free” drinks at casinos or free beer at used car auctions.

I’ve never understood the name “happy hour” when alcohol just makes you think more about what’s making you unhappy.
