Maybe Roland should cover sports in Kabul, like he did in Saigon.

Just in.Kabul, 16 April 2012. The day after massed Taliban attacks on diplomatic enclaves, military strongpoints and other targets across the embattled Afghan capital, NATO spokesmen said confidentially that these attacks prove the weakness and desperation of the Taliban. “We’ve done them so much damage across the countryside”, Brigadier General T Alls Tory said, “that they have no other option but to assault the cities. With every day that passes, they retreat forward and the situation gets better and better.” As he spoke, plaster from explosions rained down from the ceiling.

Maybe Bush should of completed the job in Afghanistan first- including getting Bin Laden- before diverting manpower and resources to a war based on lies in Iraq.

Time to give Obama another Nobel Peace prize; and throw in the Medicine, Economics, Physics and Chemistry Prizes while they are at it.

Sod ’em Insane certainly wanted the world to THINK he hadWMD,s, and would not hesitate to use them [as he used poison gas on the Kurds during his little unpleasantness inIran.]

I’ll wager we didn’t find them because he sent ‘em all toHalfass A. Sod over in Syria, and asked him to keep an eyeon them “just until this blows over, you understand.” AndI’ll bet they’re in Syria to this day.

The US fought a high tech war against a low tech enemy in Iraq and did not succeed. Saddam for all his faults/atrocities was a stabilizing force in the region. Iran and Iraq probably would have been at war with each other for much of the last decade.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders – The most famous of which is: Never get involved in a land war in Asia. … " — Vizzini the Sicilian, in “The Princess Bride” (1987). “When will they ever learn, … when … will … they … ever … learn?” — Pete Seeger, “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” (1955).

Please understand: you cannot remind Republicans about Bush, nor their fights against the GI bill, general war profiteering, pupeteering by Koch…it doesn’t matter. The “thought stoppers” are in place. Fox, maybe. Limbaugh, maybe. Genetic predisposition, perhaps.

Understand, Jesus WAS correct: “They know not what they do…”

Personally, I favor getting their attention by fear. I look forward to reading about the historical guillotine run down Wall Street, and if humanity is lucky, a similar and simultaneous one to certain ‘K’ Street offices…

They actually believe their lies, and if you are fortunate enough to catch them in one, contradicting themselves in a short enough time period they can’t avoid it…they tantrum and threaten with guns.

There will be no peace. You and all of your friends will be totally disappointed to depend on logic, reason, agreed-upon historical fact. They ‘run’ on different bases than most of us. Gird your loins…

How right you are. But we learn nothing. …. Just seven years after the last U.S. serviceman came home from Vietnam, we elected Reagan as president, giving the military industrial complex the man they wanted in the Oval Office. And it’s been war ever since … the Pentagon receives about 25% of U.S. government budget.

US should classify women from countries such as Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Muslim and African countries, where things such as child marriages and female circumcision are practiced, as political refugees. Let’s see the Taliban reproduce with “dancing boys.”

As soon as we exit, the warlords are going to go on the offensive with some good old ethnic cleansing to get rid of the Taliban. We’re just holding them back with our civilized rules of warfare.

It’s not just the SS, the whole damn government’s been busted during the Cartagena spring break. Watch Congress try and stick their noses in it. “Ohhh, I’m shocked, just shocked!” I hope someone’s keeping an eye on the FBI, it might be time for some preventive detention.

GT’s wasting his time on Afghanistan, there’s more comic material at home.
