    Repoprting from Merida:

MARY WORTH: Basically, a review of the events of last week. Maybe there’s a relationship between the televangelist repenting and Nola repenting. But, when you take all the feathers out of a pillow, it’s pretty hard to collect them and put them back in the pillow. Can Nola not only repent, but be big enough to tell the company president that she lied and that Mr. Smithers must be restored to his position.

APT3G: Also a review of the past week. What will be the outcome of the nursery (I mispelled it yesterday) painting. Will Mimi, with her “raging hormones” come in and misinterpret the scene?

REX MORGAN: Iris’ “friend” seems to be the stiff drink, but at least the dog (and I love that dog) seems to like her and wants to befriend her.

See Benitin y Eneas for my fascinating experience yesterday in Merida – my words can’t really describe the actual happening!

SUNDAY PHANTOM: A new adventure starts next Sunday, but today’s strip makes clear that P. and The Nomad (Eric Sahara) will meet again. What is less clear is the meaning of Guran’s words in panel 2: “The Python’s killers…” This could be taken two ways, either the killers who did The Python’s bidding, or the men who killed The Python (Chatu). If memory serves me right, The Python is still alive, so I assume the first meaning. I agree with marvee’s comment last Sunday, that The Nomad is less than nomadic, ensconced in his ultra mansion somewhere near Timbuktu. MARY WORTH: I am seeing the glimmer of convergence between the two scenes: 1) Nola and 2) Mary and Jeff watching t.v. The glimmer is that both appear to be dealing with contrition (and redemption), and this was foreshadowed exactly 3 weeks ago today…MARCH 11 – SEE TITLE PANEL

Actually, I have very little to comment about today because the strips almost all seem to be either a Sunday recap, rehash, or setup for next week. The artwork is good though, and I appreciate the comments made by Arye and Florchi.

Phantom: At least P knows what Eric Sahara looks like.Florchi: I agree with you on the first meaning. Who put the splint on Sahara’s leg? You would think that P would have heard about it through the “grapevine”.

REX- Bourbon & Abbey-two good friends! :-) (Abbey probablywants the cheeze and crackers)

3G- He calls her Margo and she calls him MR. Gaines, I thinkshe reinforcing her point…

MW- It would be interesting to see Nola redeem herself in thisstoryline!

JP- Why would April go back to Saudi?

Mary Worth – I agree with Florchi’s assessment. The tie-in theme is redemption. I wonder if both stories will continue or if the televangelist is a cameo appearace.
