I used to walk my dog on a skateboard. (me, not the dog). I would assist it going up a slight incline, then coming back down hill through a condo complex, I would coast while the dog ran. The best part was the speed bumps. WooHoo.
Had a friend in Hickory, NC that had a rather large and exuberant pit bull. It snowed and he got his river tube out and rigged a harness. His kids were grade school age and loved the ride in the yard the dog provided. Dad had to physically restrain the dog for potty breaks and lunch and dinner. Yep, the dog just never stopped. He loved it more than the kids did.
On the way to mass transportation, next is a dogsled, and dogcart. Then the domestication of the horse and…horsepower! Amazing! What started in B.C.’s day continues today. Now, if we could somehow get away from the gasoline powered internal combustion engine, and into something sustainable and/or reasonably priced before this summer, $5/gal gas will be just a memory. Until we figure that out, there are going to be a lot of sore feet…soon!

If the wolf (dog) had run away , would it have been
appropriate for the man to say ‘dog gone!’?
