Whoo, real mice prefer peanut butter or crispy pork rinds. This I know. Got cats. Not enough to call me a cat lady, but enough to know what mice like. Snork….. a word I found in this column. I like it. Blessed BE.

    The Opabinia Queen

(to the tune of The Girl from Ipanema) Big and grand and high-faluting The Opbinia Queen comes looting And where she’s raided The dittos shaded the view Where it floats it’s safely hidden And dittos here do as they’re bidden And what she’s reaping Has gone to keeping her new Oooh but the food is so wonderous How can we think this is madness? Yet the Topsiders down under us Haven’t taken the Queen from the sky How long can it be till they try? Big and grand and lovely servings We’ve had more food than we’re deserving And each one’s eating just what she’s needing to get Where this comes from, who can know it? But hospitality, he’ll show it And we’re relaxing, no one’s attacking us yet Ahh, but the meal was amazing Maybe this isn’t so scary This fellow doesn’t seem crazing But he talks like his brain isn’t there And he literally walks on the air Big and grand and just astounding But somehow some forboding is hounding There’s some important thing that we haven’t seen We’re all on the Queen Opabinia Queen But something’s unseen… =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum And don’t forget to vote for both For Ursa Major awards!

I love Wally’s expressions. And, as relaxed as he and Holly look, the slight view of Flask seems to show her not quite getting into the spirit of the evening.

Can’t tell by this angle, but it’s probably blue cheese. GOOD blue cheese will do that every time. Two rodents having dinner, two entirely different sets of reactions.

If Aaron was on schedule, I figure that this strip was created around Christmas. The feeling is definitely there.I think AaronM knows all of of the places (or dimensions) where the devastation did not hit and collects his food there. He certainly has enough to trade.I hope DV is getting in on this and not just stuck on her side in a bin. Maybe PETEY is with her.

I like the way Aaron is congregating his characters from his earlier strips into one grand vision. He’s developed their personalities, adapted them to these times, and let the story go.

I would love to see Aaron make some desktop wallpapers available for download.

In its feel, this kinda reminds me of a episode of Star Trek, TNG. The superbeing Q had been stripped of his powers by the rest of the Q Continum. After a selfless act of sacrifice by Q, the Q Continum restores his powers. Shortly after the restoration of his powers, Q appears on the bridge of the Enterprise with a mariachi band in tow and in mid-beat, much to the consternation of Capt Picard and the bemusement of Commander Riker.

I would just like to comment, in reiteration to those above, that the artistry on this dinner scene is superb. The storytelling, the character development and the genuine, playful fun, are all absolutely masterful. I am loving it.

I would also like to point out that, even though this is not a typical cliff hanger, we have stil clocked up nearly 100 comments. What a big, happy family we all are.

Wow, no one wants to take the #100 spot? Guess I get to grab it.DADof3, you know what I’m skeptical of? Teddy claims to have “killed or trapped more than 11,397 animals” on that 1909 African safari. What happened? They got to 11,397 and then forgot to keep counting? Even with 100 people in the camp over 3 months, that’s over 1 animal or insect per person per day. On top of which they claimed to have eaten 262 of the animals and salted or skinned the rest to send back to the Smithsonian. With all of that work, and the expected loss of creatures too small to be kept in cages, how can we be expected to believe those kinds of numbers? What did they do, go around with a vacuum cleaner and just suck the Savannah dry of life? No, I consider Taft to be the much more reliable person between the two.
