Um, harley, the Republicans have gone from “you can’t make the Catholic Church follow labor laws in the businesses they own” (Obama gave in on that one) to “any person or business who objects to contraceptives doesn’t have to cover them” (Boehner’s new proposed law.) It’s an attack on contraception as a concept. You haven’t been keeping up with Boehner on this one. He’s a Neanderthal, and is bent on losing the GOP the votes of any women and reasonable person in the country. Next: racist business owners don’t need to cover health care for minorities.

And if a Christian Scientist doesn’t believe in doctors you don’t have to provide health care…Is that what’s next?

It looks like Santorrum conservatives and pro-lifers really Like to support women with 15 kids and want a whole lot more of them to either support or let die of starvation.

Yep, Government should stay out of religious issues because religious beliefs are sacred and protected by the First Amendment, even if religious beliefs violate labor laws and individual rights..Similarly, Some religious groups should not have to pay taxes because taxes go to fight wars which is condemned on religious grounds.Jehovah Witnesses should be allowed to let their children die because they oppose needed blood transfusions on religious grounds. Some offshoots of Mormonism should be allowed to freely practice polygamy which is a sacred belief. Some followers of Christian Science should be allowed to deny their children medical procedures which would save lives because they believe prayer is a higher power. Some Muslim groups should be allowed to practice female genitalia mutilation because it is their belief.Groups such as the Waco Branch Davidians and Jonestown Peoples Temple should be allowed to flourish unchecked because they are protected by the First Amendment. Finally, Witch doctors should be allowed to eat missionaries because they believe it is right.

I wonder how people would feel about this if the Catholic church, like the Jehovah’s Witlesses, had a religious objection to blood transfusion and was pressuring the government to exempt its hospitals from performing the procedure or its secular employees from having it covered.

For how many decades has “that church” supported immigration (illegal) of their followers, who by tradition have larger families, and lower incomes?? Just an interesting look at “conservatives” also still banning contraception, but cursing taxes, and support by the government for those in poverty.
