When they provide FREE organ transplants, and do NOT give you a bill for their services, they will be “a religion”. If you get a bill, they are a BUSINESS, and subject to the laws affecting business. Or, are they performing surgery in the baptistry?

Ka-ZING! 98% of American Catholics use some kind of birth control. Whose beliefs, exactly?

Back in the olden days the churchman was not allowed to critize gubbermint because his church would lose their 501©(3) status for involving themselves with politics. Now a days you’d be labled a anti-american if you ever decided to go after the church for something they shouldn’t be doing in the first place.

Lemmee see if I got this right: Sharia Law bad, Catholic Canon good. 1st amendment open to interpretation, 2nd amendment not so much.

That’s the ticket, priest living in poverty, while the higher ups live high on the hog. Sort of reflects society in general.

It’s not about the Church. It’s about secular institutions which the Church happens to run, and allowing people to USE their free will and conscience.
