A couple days longer than I expected, but the brick finally comes home to roost.

I think I mangled that metaphor.

She’s thinking, ok, if this doesn’t work, I’ll have wasted a whole day….

And if it DOES, I’ll have to repeat a whole WEEK.

    Hence her expression.

Besides, this would seem to be a rOdd Perry drawing, and he does that particular Brevity “hapless” so well. I miss it!

Of course, she’s still a child.

The older we get, the more we’d love to be given some time to do over.

BTW, I answered Dogsniff, x_tech and the col kinda late yesterday…..

It’s been one of those days.

And…. finally… a public service announcement for US readers:

" ‘box clever’ (British)to behave in a clever and sometimes slightly dishonest way to try to achieve a result you want. "

The inventor of the time machine was a scientist named Dr. Stein. He immediately committed a robbery of large proportion and fled beyond the statutes of limitation where he was arrested. After a long trial by a learned judge he was found not guilty. The judge’s ruling was: “A niche in time saves Stein”.

I always liked Fredric Brown’s idea:

    The End

Professor Jones had been working on time theory for many yeras.

“And I have found the key equation,” he told his daughter one day. “Time is a field. This machine I have made can manipulate, even reverse, that field.”Pushing a button as he spoke, he said, “This should make time run backward backward run time make should this,” said he, spoke he as button a pushing.“Field that, reverse even, manipulate can amde have I machine this. Field is a time.” Day one daughter his told he, “Equation key the found have I and.”“Years many for theory time on working been had Jones Professor.”End The

Methinks they do the first strip and then read these comments in order to figure out the next one.

Sorry, but I am confused. Last week the boy was pointing “off screen.” Now he has a box with a time machine in it. What happened? I guess I am dumb, but I do not gt this at all.

If this isn’t the greatest single panel comic of the last 50 years, I’ll eat my hat. Brilliant. The box is the time machine; she was skeptical, then exuberant; and he successfully created time travel for us to enjoy.
