She’s mad because you didn’t try it. Like Hawkeye Pierce, you have to analyze everything.

She might as well say “Try it…it builds character.” But, only because I don’t see The Dad.

No, mom never really said what it was….if she’d had said it was worms or grubs he’d have scarfed it down…but she just keeps saying “try it”… and that’s just suspect to little boys.

If she’d said, “Yes, Calvin, it’s grubs, but I didn’t want to upset you . . .” he’d have finished it all before she could finish her sentence.

Calvin is just not hungry enough, yet. He only needs a few mealtimes in “time-out.”

Put the plate in front of the child; if it is hungry it will eat. If it doesn’t eat, remove the plate and give nothing else till the the next meal. Soon sorts out fussy eaters. I am assuming, of course, that the meal is well prepared and delicious; Mum has to play her part too.

Our oldest wouldn’t put the first spoon or fork full of any food in his mouth until smelling of it first. Now in his mid 40’s and our daughter in law laughs because he still does it!!

Pink Slime got a right-brain drive-by! If we can learn to love chlorine in our water (makes our dish, laundry and body washing more germicidal, if used carefully keeps our pet fish more disease-free), maybe we should enjoy beef that is ammonia de-loused. The mad cow you eat may be your last.

@Sharuniboy,Methinks you are skeptical and cynical, to say the least! For God to use evolution to create the universe would be incredibly cruel. There would be much pain, suffering and death hundreds of million of years before man came on the scene. Adam and Eve’s original sin, prompted by the serpent (devil), brought pain, suffering and death into the world.

“And as he (Sharuniboy) thus spoke for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul (Sharuniboy), you are beside yourself; much learning makes you mad.”Acts 26:24

We did have to try a new dish before refusing it, or commenting on it. Also, since we filled our own plates, what we took we were expected to eat. So, for our family, Mom would have been right.

(a)“whatever evolved did so in a way that enhanced the quality of life”,…(b).“dependent upon the Hebrew mythology book being available throughout Western culture.”

In answer to (a).. If evolution “enhanced” the quality of man’s life on earth, I would expect better from him, not continually worse. Not everything is based on ‘convenience’ or ‘comfort’. How about clean water and air. ‘Man dominates man to his injury’, not his betterment.

    (b) This book which you attempt to denigrate is the most widely published, circulated and read book in the WORLD, not simply western culture. Available in more languages either in it’s entirety, or major parts, than any other writing in history.

    Heading for a room now.
