As a Liberal and a Democrat,I am saying differently,thank you very much! I work hard,I pay my dues,(figuratively and literally),and I don’t have time to tell people who don’t work and are lazy how “entitled” they are to everyone else’s money. If you work,than you deserve a paycheck. This “Liberals and Democrats are lazy” cop is the BIGGEST load of crap I’ve ever heard,and I’m SICK of it!

You deserve something alright. A swift kick in the pants. There is a big problem with that idea Calvin. Without hard work and the hard knocks life throws at you, you never learn anything important, meaningful, or worthwhile. Besides, an easy life is a very uninteresting life.

Calvin has a lot to learn as he grows older. My son had to learn the difficult way as the years went bye. I am pleased to say he matured along the way.

Read the followups on some of the lottery winners – some are now millions in debt!Someone on my wife’s side of the family, in the 1950s, got apx $1 million on a patent. Went out and bought ski eqpt for whole family (used once), threw lavish parties, etc and by 1970 had to get a mortgage to buy a house, and work in a factory to survive rest of his life.Rule #1: It’s not how much you make, it’s what you can avoid spending. Rule #2: Those that have to work their way up know how to manage money better.

Ask a kid today, what (s)he would do if they would do if they suddenly got a $10,000 windfall. Most would have a list of popular electronic items, CDs, car, etc.Very few would think of saving or investing.

Hmmm. At the risk of offending some people, what we deserve is the wages of sin: death and eternal suffering for the harm we’ve caused ourselves and others.

I got misunderstood in yesterday’s comment: I said that going to work was better than going to school. I didn’t say that being a kid was awful or being an adult wonderful. Each season has it’s perks … and not.

Sure Calvin you deserve it… As long as you work towards it… Warren Buffet had his success handed to him on a silver platter. That is after he worked for that success…

It is obvious Calvin is an Obama supporter.

In terms of being deserving – God loves us in spite of what we are, not because of what we are……the former is vastly preferable to the latter, IMHO…

I got grown up neighbours that think that way so I guess Calvin is acting on example .
