    Quickly, from yesterday….

Colonel, I copied your (amazing page of) code..

but in that post, and when I paste it elsewhere, to try it, it’s still code…..so what else does it need to make it “work”?

    Hope that makes sense.

And Larry, yes, the reason SusanS, didn’t strike out is that the comma is touching the 2nd hyphenand a space before the comma is awkward….

So just put the hyphen after the punctuation, like that!

So of course it DID strike out this time, even though I copied and pasted it right out of your post where it didn’t, and it shouldn’t have.

LOL. Hope you know what I’m talking about.

Even easier just replace the “Smart Quotes” (the curly ones)

I’m referring to the Colonel’s code not the strike thru

That’s sergeants who do that. Colonels do much worse.Interfaced with accountants for the family business and even worked as one for a couple of years and I never saw one of those either.

I can understand that, but if someone tells me drop and give ’em 20, well good luck getting me off the floor.

    “ drop and give him 20. “

Are we talkin’ push-ups here?Well, there are these: or

    THESE

I didn’t realize that I could be perceived as such a stern mother. Think I’ll work on changing my avatar to something more salubrious, or at least greasy.

@six (re add visor)..funny!…a lo of people don’t know that they once wore beanies instead of visors. the origin of beanie counters, or bean counters as they are known today.

For some reason, when I signed into F Minus, my comment showed up here. Obviously it does not make sense or relate to this comic. Sorry.

    Wow, thanks Colonel, and X-tech….

It’s been a busy day, and I have to leave again, so I haven’t had a chance to play with it much…..

I was thinking the code must have acquired smart quotes by being created or pasted into a word processor, and my pasting it into Notepad would have already switched them to regular ones.

Also wouldn’t the fact that the fact that I copied it as posted, not from the Col’s original code, have already eliminated the by-then-unseen formatting such as page breaks?

I must be wrong on some counts cos my brief attempts didn’t make it work yet, but I’m sure I’ll get there.

    Thanks again.

And Dogsniff, my Dad was a Colonel (USAF ret), so I guess I’ve lost those feelings of fear and formality, though he WAS a pretty scary individual.

Colonel, your avatar has always made me think of Col. Mustard.
