Sweet dreams Calvin.
Why do monsters under the bed come around to visit this pair again? :))))
An all-time classic!!! XDI love the closeup on Hobbes in the upper right hand corner.
Being scared by your own dreams is one thing. But being scared by someone else’s is something else.
What a beautifully executed strip.
Don’t ride on the back of a tiger!!
How would you look like, if you where in the place of the pillow, Calvin!
This reminds me of Bender dreaming about “kill all humans”
Tiger, tiger, burning bright During my sleeping in the night, What immortal hand or eye Frames my fearful nightmare? .with apologies to William Blake
It’s not every six-year-old boy that dreams of being mauled by his tiger.
Calvin needs to cage his imaginary friend’s dream.
The next morning, which came out (of bed)? The laddie, or the tiger?
Calvin needs to learn to sleep with one eye open and with a whip and a chair next to his bed.
Just between you and me I’m glad I sleep with a nice cuddly Teddy Bear. Good golly Miss Molly,Those two scare the bejeebers out of me.
Well I guess Calvin will no longer have to worry about those monsters under the bed.
“A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you’re fast asleep.”
“Sweet Dreams (of you)”
Chuckle, chuckle, the tiger sneaks through the jungle!!
When Hobbes smiled at Calvin, he has human teeth and in the next frame, he has tiger teeth. Funny.
Calvin: I would have been scared too y’know!!! :) :D :P
Perfection! This strip doesn’t just make me laugh. This is bliss. Watterson is a genius!
Be afraid… be very afraid, Calvin. And let sleeping tigers lie.
My cat does the same thing when chasing something. Just before he pounces, he wiggles his butt… I suppose to get more momentum.
Wow, That was scary.
I’ve heard all these weird things that people are eating marshmallows in their dreams and they wake up to find their pillow gone.
That just cracks me up every time.
That was a “rescue panther”. Rescue animals are adopted from shelters that take in unwanted and abandoned pets. That is one funny commercial!
Good night Calvin, don’t let the bed tigers bite!
The last panel reminds me of that new “rescue panther” commercial.
Reminds me of my ex-wife.
The pillow all torn from cat claws ,that will give Calvin something to think about before falling asleep.
Goes to show you you cannot domesticate a tiger. He’s still a tiger.
LOVE this one.
This reminds me of the commercial were the couple buys a rescue panther to provide home security.
You must bring a new pillow for Hobbes, Calvin!
As long as he doesn’t hurt him, that’s all that matters. lol
Might want to check all your appendages, Calvin. Hobbes might have nibbled on one or two accidentally.
I have to say I admire Watterson for knowing when to leave the party. The author of Garfield could learn from his example. Watterson said what he had to say and moved on, instead of selling out his ideas and characters for mere money.
Love silent strips.
Me too. And several others, too.
Here’s the rescue panther commercial.
She is just beautiful (GOT to be a female).
Hobbes is real. Don’t let his ability to disguise himself as a stuffed toy fool you- that’s his “Clark Kent” identity!
may want to find a new sleeping place Calvin!
The wordless complexities of a two-sided mind…
I remember this strip when it first came out. My all-time favourite Calvin and Hobbes story. So well-presented, and utterly without a word spoken.
Okay, Hobbes. What do you have to say for yourself?
Instead of “et.tu.brute?” it’s more like “et. tu. Hobbes?”
one of the best C&H ever.
grt. being scared of another’s scary dream
The tumbling fight panel should be a sticker. Give it away with cereal. It’s GREAT!
