You must assume the folks reading the comments are ignorant. That or you are. The proposals being blocked by the GOP are to extend the middle class tax cuts, not increase them and give to the poor.
What change in any tax that makes it more than it was the month before does the GOP support? Only the payroll tax cut and then only the Congressional Reps.
The goal is for twelve months but the House version included some items that the Senate wouldn’t support. But because time was running out to have a conference, the Senate said let’s do two months on the things we agree on. Then we’ll discuss the rest and do a final bill that makes up the remaining 10 months. But you knew all of this before hand, didn’t you.
Late Breaking News: Boehner caved in. The House will now at least vote on the Senate Bill. I guess he took a look and realized the TPers had backed him into a No-Win situation.
