Well, Chris was intelligent, (Okay, the heavy smoking and drinking wasn’t terribly bright, but neither was the Iraq war.) and never boring, whether you agreed with him, or NOT. He did write to make other people think, for that, he’ll be missed.

I miss Tony Judt.

Where’d you learn that one, Irish Eddie? It’s a human-invented story, not even in your bible, so there’s no particular reason to believe that it’s true.

He didn’t need to be nice…or sober. Sometimes, we just need a person to stand up and say “I’m tired of all this BS”, then we can watch him make people feel bad for being liars. It was so nice to see him make preachers squirm, it made it so clear that even they don’t believe what they’re saying. I will miss him.

That’s the problem with some versions of Christianity — all the interesting people go to hell.

where in the Bible is God’s revelation that there is any such place as “Limbo”….? (chapter and verse,please)-Hitchins’ education has just begun……his entire “theology” of Atheism was disproved the first minute after physical death….and his “superior intelligence” was apparently incapable of learning that it is a paradox to say for a lifetime that there IS NO GOD IN EXISTENCE…and yet for a lifetime he HATED GOD…..

to reply to more than one critic=1.“theology” is the system of religion as practised and taught by men…..in this life…..Hitchins bragged about atheist beliefs and atheism can legitimately be described as a “religion”….-2.Bible Judaism and Christianity are theologies of FAITH, based on accepting the Scriptures as truly God’s revelations to chosen writers, and God who created the universe and earth and mankind and set eternal laws including gravity, etc….the law of sin and death and the loophole God himself put in the system…God becamed man in the Virgin Birth of Jesus who came from heaven to die as the atonement for human sin, and rose from death to be the first in Resurrection and Eternal Life, offered by FAITH to those who choose to accept it.-3.since I believed in 1963, I don’t know the mind of anyone else, but I do know what the Bible teaches about life and death and about Heaven and Hell….Jesus taught much about Hell, btw.-4.truecanadianliberal said, about 12 hours ago

So DT, you know the state of mind of the dead now? Do you do seances? At 79, you are likely closer to that point than any of us, so please share your objective insights.(end quote) my answer is that at age 79 there is so much to look forward to that the Bible informed me about….both here and now and the state of Israel is the Key to earth history….predictions have been and are being fulfilled…God is safeguarding His Earthly Capitol, Jerusalem, and His chosen nation, Israel, from multitudes of enemies and threats….and I appreciate more and more the truth of the Bible’s accounts of the birth of God’s only begotten Son and mankind’s only possible Saviour, planned before God created Eden and Adam…..God is Good to very bad men like boasting atheists who were given many opportunities to choose faith in Jesus.

Every time one reflects on Revelations, John, or DT, one sees that mushrooms and bad acid have a very long history.
