Happy Solstice to you too Jan. I wish I could have been at Newgrange in Ireland to see the sunrise this morning.

I noticed the gift he gave to Jan was large. I’m sure she would have liked to have it be a small box. ;)

It means the earth has come full circle around sun. Which also means starting today each day will start getting longerby one minute.

It also means in just two months, we’ll be messing with the time again!

Where’s the other sister? The day doesn’t get shorter, there’s just less sunlight. WE DON"T NEED A SHORTER DAY!!

Winter Solstice, also known as Yule, is one of four sabbats for pagans and Wiccans. The other three being the summer solstice and the two equinoxes. Yule celebrates the the rebirth of the Lord and the Lady’s rest for the winter.

Thank you for remembering us with this strip. So many times we are left out of other’s thoughts.

Very nice… :-)@38lowell – the good things about shorter days are longer nights. Lots of fun can be had at night…

We have been celebrating the Winter Solstice with a party featuring an outdoor fire for years. Nice to see others doing the same.

Sorry all not for me outside fire. Prefer be inside on a snowy day. So far here in Central KS we have escaped a lot of snow. A drift of snow. Western KS to CO a lot more snow twice.

Love those longer nights! Don’t particularly like waking up in the dark though when I take a late nap.

Here in Ohio the sun started setting later on Dec 15, but it doesn’t start rising earlier until Jan 11.
