Or we could just let the ows protesters take over and we can all live in tents and poop in plastic bags. Until the plastic bags run out, then what, oh great GA?

Having been in law enforcement, and seen the escalation in aggression with these “uniform changes”, and having observed repressive dictatorships, the acceptance of proto-military policing on our streets is, well, scary. The face masks are “explainable” with SWAT and some drug activities, but the acceptance of a masked, deliberate “terror” infusion, by the police, in every contact situation is a step beyond going from cops walking a beat, to only cruising in their cars, with regard to separating them from the “protect and DEFEND” model.

“Law enforcement is there because there are individuals that think they can take what the want or remove those in the way of what they want and ignore the law. "

Best definition of Newt, and today’s “conservatives” available, and the need for laws and law enforcement.

This is what the future will look like. Soon, we will all live in armored moon suits. We would protect the police better with more sensible and constitutional gun laws: Virginia Tech, Jared Loughner, &al.—too many people carry concealed guns too easily. Our courts and legislatures have made a mockery of the Second Amendment, endangering all of us, especially our socially-funded police. Remember: When you rail against “socialism”, you rail against the police.

Yep, churchie, those full body armor suits and helmets with face masks and shields are really the “liberal” dream, driving off folks come to demand their First Amendment rights. I agree they should clean up their literal ’act" when it comes to sanitation, but the trend in “police” hiding their identities in almost ALL contacts, not just undercover drug investigators, is rather terrifying to anyone who believes in the Constitution.

1984 was exactly what was predicted, as is occurring under RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVE policies, like the “Patriot Act” and “Military Commissions Act”. Yes, scary times indeed.

You didn’t rebut any of Trout’s points! The “Patriot” Act is wrong, but some Democrats voted for it. Wow, that’s news. That doesn’t make it less wrong.Yes, the Senate passed the Levin-McCain bill. Yes, sixteen Democrats voted for it (30% the Senate’s Democrats), but, more importantly, 45 Republicans voted for it (96%)! Thus, if we consider it an evil measure (and we do), then Republicans are over three times more evil than are Democrats. (Wow, that’s news.)Finally, your moniker for the president is offensive and racist. I shall not flag you for it, because you have the right to express your racism under our Constitution. I shall not attend to any remarks of yours, however, as long as you persist in referring to the legitimately elected president in this manner.

Churchie: When I was doing police work, we weren’t eve allowed to even wear dark glasses that prevented folks from seeing our eyes, that “contact thing”. SWAT, and now riot control gear includes face (ski type) masks, shields, helmets, shields, and other "equipment’ that turns the officers into automatons. That is bad for them, and the public they face. That in many instances a minority of Dems did vote with Republicans to pass legislation WRITTEN BY REPUBLICANS, doesn’t make it “theirs”, or "liberals’ ".

You consistently “rebutt” nothing but your ideology that comes from wearing out that location, the source of your ideas and “proofs”.
