We should all be so inspiring to our Grandchildren.

Thirdguy – we mostly are, even if it’s not as flashy as donating time in an overseas location. Most of us work at jobs that are okay, but taht we don’t love so that our kids can have a safe home and enough education or training to get a good start on life. We try to save enough so that we won’t be a drain on our children and grandchildrens resources when we get old. We stay out of trouble and we participate in some way in public life. We treat others reasonably well. We deal with the liittle (and sometimes) big bad stuff that comes our way in a positive manner. You hear about the bad stuff more because it sells, but we’re a pretty civillized culture.

Very sweet. But I’m wondering what happened to Holly between panel 1 and 3. Was there an electric shock in the sofa that changed her attitude so quickly? If so, I’d like to know where I can purchase one.

Not a save, just the admitting of one’s doubts.

Even teens have those moments of telling someone else.

Maybe Holly is in the median between a child and an adult.

Not all grandparent’s are like Evie. My own mom is nothing like Evie at all. My mom worries about money a lot. Over all her heath is great. She has no computer or cable for TV and she does not like to read. She does not volunterr to help at church. Occasionlly when much younger helped with VBS at church and that was all.

Haiti is no lost cause. If more people like Gramma went and helped them mend their homes and gave them food, it won’t be so poverty and earthquake shaken.

Give Holly a little credit. Her first response was her typical snotty teenager self; shoot from the hip with no real thought about what your saying. But when she get’s called out for her comment by her sister and has to really think about her answer, her true thoughts came out. And maybe she has a little bit of jealousy of Evie’s awesomeness triggered by her own self-doubt? Fortunately Evie has the wisdom of ages.
