I think today’s regulations should be treated in the same fashion as yesterday’s Sear’s catalogs.

It probably works like a charm, so the guy wants it for himself.

Only if you give me a free, new water-efficient toilet in return.

Were they measuring his sewage quantity to discover the violation? Yuck. While I’m all in favor of conserving water (I have low-flow toilets and conserve whenever possible), it has caused unforeseen issues in the SF area (and maybe other places). There is now not enough water to push the sewage through the pipes to the water treatment plants, so the sewage sits in the pipes longer and stinks. As the pipes are replaced, they’ll need to be re-engineered for less water, but that will take a while.

That means you’ll have to get one of those stupid low-flow, pieces of trash, and end up using twice as much water to take care of the job, especially with your #2s. And lets not forget the fun time plunging the dang toidey when it backs up, (I’ve been having that bit of fun all summer…)

I don’t think its’ just about kids licking radiators. Where do you think all that paint goes when buildings and walls are torn down and burried, hauled off to the landfill, etc.?

Why anyone would go in to battle for a lightbulb that generates a higher electric bill for them is beyond me but then,.. I suppose some preferred to stick to fuel lanterns and candlestick too. Oh right now I remember. It’s supposed to be about; “FREEDOM”!

Not real hard; they have your water bill, and the water you used had to go somewhere; if it’s not running out the front door and down the street, it’s going down the sewer.,.

Unlike your electric or gas service that can be cut off at the meter, or your water that can be shut off at the curb or meter pit, there’s no magic shutoff valve for your sewer connection or metering device connected to the line to see what goes down it. “They” can’t shut it off and cause a back-up into your basement. They CAN, however, shut off your water service, which makes your sewer connection functionally useless.@lightenup- they don’t measure the waste, they measure the water usage and extrapolate. Much less yucky.
