They sure did have a good thing going. Nothing quite like a short life expectancy. Who needs modern medicine, electricity, or computers? Face it, the more efficient tribe won in the battle of the use of the natural resources. It is called survival of the fittest.

Today we’re STILL seeing the terrible impact of “invasive species”, mostly brought by “Europeans” intent on their own profit, which are destroying the land, like kudzu, crested wheatgrass, yellow star thistle, starlings, herefords, and many other plants and animals, not to mention bacteria and viruses.

Initially, the only “winner” was GUNS. Gee, today, that same fascination with GUNS kills and injures more than any other method than the automobile. The former used to directly kill each other, the latter invention leading to the destruction of the entire planet, due to laziness and poor planning.

fennec; also, Europeans didn’t teach the natives how to grow maize or, well, tobacco. The Spanish also didn’t teach the natives how to smelt gold. That was THEIR mistake in letting the Spanish know they knew how!

The difference is that these “occupiers” are actually invaders, not citizens fighting for economic justice.
