When were they going to tell Lila? When Annie needed to get a passport, or as they were getting on the plane? I agree, Teach was way out of line.
No way should this be treated as acceptable behavior from that teacher — especially as he tagged on his own expenses to his unsolicited request.
“Thank you” should have been preceded by “I’m so sorry they called you without my permission. We’ll have to discuss this.”
Then, if Annie really wants to go, and Dr. Fine is willing to pay, OK, don’t punish her.
Work something out with the school about a rebuke for the teacher, and let her go — but NOT him!
I hope Lila doesn’t think she owes him anything, or feel obligated to go out with him now because of this. This was NOT her asking him.
Can Dr Fine please get a first name? I find it a bit creepy that he’s been a strip regular for a few years now and even Annie still calls him Doctor.

Me thinks Lila should have a conversation with that totally,self serving, pushy teacher. The guy has a lot of nerve!
