    I agree about here in the US. Buy one of the many houses, fix em up that looks great, and rent them out.

    Great if you can do both… Evie’s not moving to Haiti, so why not do something long-term here and something short-term abroad?

    Mennonite Disaster Service is volunteers who rebuild houses all over the US and Canada where disaster has struck. Evie could give them a hand too.

    Never mind the Katrina trailers: how about the fact that the Katrina Cottages, decent permanent housing, were passed by in favor of the trailers, which were not permanent and would be less safe in future storms?
