How sad to be a conservative who only sees one.

WRONG! The correct historical comparison is “Hoovervilles,” which were created by those rendered jobless and homeless by the Great Depression, keeping in mind that one of the direct causes thereof was the boom-and-bust approach to the unregulated stock market and banks, which in turn was created by the Republicans like Calvin Coolidge: Reagan’s favorite president. The key acts FDR got into place stabilized the economy and prevented this happening again — until the Republicans took off the brakes and the controls starting with Reagan.

The two guys talking in this comic are only slightly LESS idiotic and ignorant than the people who are occupying everywhere…but that’s only because Bors either an idiot himself, or he’s just trying to give a totally delusional impression of them.

I thought the same thing. It’s always an either/or choice, just like their puny minds always see everything as being a partisan choice. It’s like motivemagus said about conservatives only seeing one choice—because right now, THERE IS only one choice, because BOTH PARTIES only offer one choice—a broken system that is driven by idiotic progressive notions, but he’s blinded by the notion that HIS choice is the only one. In a way, he admits that being a leftist/collectivist progressive only sees one choice himself.

However, it’s true what you say, charlie, because the two above are the only ones that the no-mind lefties can see, because they’ve been indoctrinated to see everything with blinders on. True entrepreneurial capitalism is the best way for the highest number of people, rather than communism, socialism, or some sort of anarcho-syndicalist system, but all they know is what they’ve been told is “capitalism” (a capitalist/socialist/fascist hybrid abomination), and they’ve been told that IT is “capitalism.”

So, given the choices (only two), of course they are going to dismiss “capitalism,” because it has clearly failed, rather than seeing it for what it is—a hybrid abomination. And, what is the OWS crowd’s alternative? All I can see is that they want to burn it all down, and run the Jews out of the country. The antisemitism is clearly there, it is EVERYTHING that the left says the Tea Party is about, but it’s the job of propagandists like Bors to hide that fact.

“Beatniks” before “Hippies”. Republican policies DID lead to the “Great Depression” and reinstating those stupid policies put the economy where it is today. Iraq and Afghanistan did not put people to work as WW II did, instead corporate America shipped jobs overseas because of a “flat Earth” , while those “little wars” didn’t involve many families here at home, or accomplish anything of true significance. Saddam and the Taliban (which we created) nor Al Qaeda, equal the threat of global Fascism. In fact, why ARE Americans supporting corporate rule, and calling it a “tea revolution”? The OWS movement is ANTI-Fascist, but not “Marxist”, even if a few extremists in the crowd draw Faux news, while the retirees, engineers, students, and construction workers- out of work, only get minimal coverage, mostly from “overseas” broadcasts?

Recognizing and ACCOMPLISHING social responsibility, and economic fairness, is the dude’s conundrum. It’s hard to “see the light” when you keep poking yourself in the eyes with that same sharp stick.

Herbert Hoover spent but insufficiently & badly. Franklin Roosevelt spent more and much much better. If President Obama had a co-operative Congress similar to those Roosevelt had between January 1933 & January 1939, then we would be much further out of the Great Republican Recession than we are. Unemployment had peaked in 2010 & had begun to fall until the Teapublicans took over many state houses and the House of Representatives. Now, employment has stagnated.Time to vote out the do nothing Teapublicans.

No one needs to prove you wrong. Whether Herbert Hoover spent money to help Americans out of the Republican-caused Great Depression isn’t relevant. His spending didn’t help. Franklin Roosevelt’s did. Find “gov’t… statistics” to prove that wrong.Just think what President Obama could have done with a congressional majority like Roosevelt’s and with senators less beholden to the one percent. The recovery has stalled ever since the Teapublicans took over the House and did nothing but protect the tax breaks for the one percent.
