    @ psychlady: Thanksgiving doesn’t have anything like candy or presents associated with it, so retailers are inclined to ignore it and try to keep people focused on more profitable holidays.

    On a fixed income, I’m glad I no longer give gifts except to one grandson born of my daughter’s 2nd marriage who did not benefit from the better years.
