Marcus: Which one is the haunted cubby? Alice: The empty one. They found a hat in it with someone's head still inside. Dill: That's not what I heard! I heard they found a hat without a head! Girl: A headless hat? EEE-yooooo! Kevin: I heard it was a mitten! Beni: And one time a scarf reached out of the haunted cubby and grabbed a kid and pulled him inside! Marcus: Yeep! Alice: And sometimes you can hear a voice moaning, "who put yoghurt in my lunch? I hate that stuff!" Marcus: I'm sorry I asked. Alice: Also - the pencil sharpener has been driven mad by all of the crayons that've been stuck in it and it'll bite your giner off!

By panel 4 poor Marcus both looks and sounds like the much-beset Beaker, lab assistant to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew on the Muppets. After everyone piles on him today, he needs a comforting security blanket, at the very least….

I had to FF much of today’s programming. I had absolutely no connection with anyone there (or in the state of NY) but hearing about any experience back then (even thinking of my own feelings as events progressed in ’01) brings bitter tears. I am very glad I could go to saved progams on TiVo for the rest of the day.
