It might be a good idea to check out “Rise of the Vulcans”. While Democrats are guilty of sleeping through the nightmare, intimidated as if Freddy Kruger was actually real, the real threat on Elm Street was the stage managers behind the scenes, not the actors on stage. Fade out.
The Dems cannot get a bill onto the floor of the House without it going through a Republican controlled committee. The chances of that happening are like a snowball’s chance in H___! Now if a Republican would offer to cowrite a bill and submit it on a bi-partisan basis? Not much chance of that either.
churchie- my comments here are “off the top” without editing, and influenced sometimes by events, and sometimes by the number of glasses of wine with dinner to “accommodate stress”. I apologize for when a sense of humor may not be present, but can’t take the blame when folks don’t “get it”.
Actually took creative writing classes a long time ago. After writing many documents (magazine articles, environmental documents etc) and books in “non-fiction” over the years, started writing fiction.(NO swirly, that is NOT the basis of my critical comments or politics.) Writing first drafts is easy and fun, but the editing and re-writes are a “killer”. Spousal unit wishes I’d quit writing short stuff that doesn’t pay well and sell some of the novels or screenplays I never quite get around to re-writing for the editors/producers wanting to buy them after I “finish”. Writing is fun, “finishing” is work.
Revenue’s lower than spending. Spending’s at its highest level compared to GDP since WWII, revenue at its lowest since the Korean War. Maybe the way to fix that is to (gasp) cut spending and raise revenue? Since America obviously wants these programs, its time America pays for them.
