Luann: Happy mom day! Dad: Stay right here in bed. Brad: We're makin' breakfast! Mom: Breakfast in bed. Sweet, but I'd really rather get up and get going. There are so many things I could be doing.... dentist appt. call Cindy write to Sue vet appt. bank/cleaners bills yard bread eggs bananas coffee shampoo toilet paper dog food. Mom: sigh. How much longer? Luann: Here ya go! Mom: Great! Dad: Mom loves breakfast in bed.

Moms love breakfast in bed… at breakfast time. Waiting until the day is half gone causes anxiety.

When was in Jr. high, I would sometimes fix breakfast on Saturday or Sunday for my mom and me and serve it to her in bed and get in bed, too and we’d have breakfast in bed together. Nice mother/daughter bonding time.

Most of the things on her list can’t be done on a Sunday anyway. What dentist/vet/bank is open on Sundays (other than emergency dentists and vets, who charge a fortune and probably wouldn’t be pleased with someone taking up their time for a routine procedure). She needs to chill and enjoy the day. And someone else can do the grocery shopping.

She had all week to do this, but she has to lay a guilt trip on the family who puts up with her.
