If any civilization is to survive, it is the morality of altruism that men have to reject….Ayn Rand

“And now I see the face of god, and I raise this god over the earth, this god whom men have sought since men came into being, this god who will grant them joy and peace and pride. This god, this one word: ’I.” ….. Ayn Rand

“I want to be prepared to claim the greatest virtue of all – that I was a man who made money” — Ayn Rand

Notice the common thread throughout Rand’s first quote? The bourgeoisie, the Jews and American business were all attacked because they were perceived to be successful, while other people in the country were not..Revolutions like those throughout history are always essentially the people who perceive themselves to be failures rising up against the people they perceive to be successful and taking what they have not rightfully earned..We have other words for people like this. Thieves. Pirates. Burglars. So remember that when you decide to get in line with them….

Socialism only works as long as there is someone else to rob.

Paying into a fund for 40 years and expecting to get something back from the fund is not socialism.

Government has never been more than a protection racket.Defend the rich because they pay well. Defend the poor because it’s a useful defense to have the crowd behind you.It goes bad when they’re the only thing you need defense from. When the rich quit supporting the poor, critical mass is imminent & the Bolsheviks will rise.

Rand was a narcissist, atheist, whacko, and “cult” leader. Alan Greenspan was one of her primary acolytes- and the greed expressed in her philosophy of the great “I”- has born its rotten fruit — in one cup of “TEA”.

cartoon….Qs…..who gave Obama those medals and what are they? ….yes, I agree that Obama has set himself up as the Leader in a domestic Class War in the USA…..pitting the “poor” against the “rich” in a nation founded with every citizen equal in the eyes of the Laws of the Nation….and with a government setup to merely provide PEACE and a stable society so the private sector has OPPORTUNITY to start and grow and succeed in legal businesses, creating jobs and wealth and taxes to support a SMALL and NEUTRAL federal system!!!

shame on Obama and every supporter of Class Warfare…the Democratic Party.

^In a true democracy, the “individuals” ARE the “state”- even supposed to be so in our republic, but corporations and current “conservatives” following the propaganda who keep dreaming THEY will join the wealthy ruling class (they won’t) are doing everything they can do DESTROY individual rights. Exactly by the way, where does a country where everyone is equal, and has equal opportunity, instead of resting under the thumb of a wealthy upper class of “better people”- like Rand espouses, come out second??

Sorry, Rand and her devotees are “floaters” only in the cesspool of human failure.

Another Texas economist Phil Gramm and his wife Wendy brought us the Commodities Futures Modernization Act that contained the “Enron Loophole”. Then they both left office, Wendy went to work for Enron with a million dollar signing bonus and husband Phil went to UBS, where he tells key clients what offshore banks to use. You know Phil, called us a nation of whiners and was almost our Secretary of the Treasury if McCain had been elected.

asaid… The Gramms, Phil’s “Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act” deregulating the financial services industry in this country, repealing the “Glass-Steagal Act” and Wendy’s “Commodities Futures Modernization Act” keeping credit default swaps free from regulation, are possibly the major cause of the largest financial crisis since the Great Depression. I mentioned them because of your reference to Texas economics teachers, any story of Texas economists is incomplete without at least a mention of Phil. I wasn’t aware I was attacking one of your heroes and possible future financial manager.

Gramm did write the bill that shot down our economy, and gave the country to his corporate friends. Which, why do so few conservatives NOT recognize that the equality of a democracy is NOT the same thing as “socialism”? Oh, right, feudalism is better? Capitalism is NOT intended to be either feudalism, or fascism either, but looking at the “Gramm effect”, it IS confusing.

re cute economics fable: Dude, I wouldn’t be recounting this fable. It teaches us that Texas tech hires idiots. This prof doesn’t sound like someone who knows what socialism is (means of production cooperatively owned or regulated). This sounds like it was written by a dolt and an email that does the rounds. And you believed it? Tch, it doesn’t make you look good. Unless you can give us a verifiable source of this wonderful tale? No? Ah well…

Look at the bottom line. The Big Money guys are getting richer by the minute, th rest are sinking, and the rich hate unions because they slow down their accumulation.

Aha, so you searched and searched and you’ve discovered your little email story was made up. To cover your disappointment you now say it is a parable. Cute. The “parable” writer is still someone who doesn’t understand socialism. Those who pass it along, or post it on public fora without proper attribution, the more the fool for believing it actually “taught” something.

…instead you believe in emailed fables. I suggest you try the “searching and searching” route and improve your awesomeness.
