Wow…some place….nurse is strong as an ox and the lady who owns it seems to be able to chew nails and spit bullets.

I knew already yesterday that that Gloria-person was no good! Selling bomb-making chemicals to would-be terrorists under the pretext of managing George’s nursery, ehh? Meanwhile, Mina tends to poor George in a somewhat unorthodox manner. There could be some really poignant moments in this arc….

Yeah, these characters are something else! I kinda like the nurse, though. She’d give Hulk Hogan a run for the money! Maybe she came out of the circus arc a while back.

Cockerham2, you need to find the IDW reprints..Eleven volumes out so far, covering the strip from 1931-1947 at the moment. May be available at Amazon if you’re lucky, and not all that expensive.

Yesterday’s drawing of Mina was very Gould-ian.

I second the answer on those IDW Tracy History books. Good reprints, albeit BW. includes Sundays. no edits, good columns on strip history. It’s into the early 50s now, next volume out around Oct. Amazon availability and not cost prohibitive.

Gloria also reminds me of Miss Balbricker, the girls PE instructor, in the movie Porky’s – remember the scene where one of the boys put his “taliwacker” thru the hole in the wall of the girls shower and Miss Balbricker grabbed onto to it but it got away. So, she wanted the a line up of the boys with their pants down because she could identify “The Member”

I have been on a campaign to have my regional paper carry the strip, but all I get are polite letters telling me they will " discuss it at their next meeting ". I even had a petition with 100 signatures…but, no dice.

Good lord, that nurse is scary, the way she’s carrying her patient is totally unprofessional, she could kill the poor guy that way.
